Admissions

Applegarth operates an admissions protocol which complies with the Equality and Diversity Policy of the organisation. We can help formulate the right care plan for you.

We suggest a trial visit to the unit before you make any decision. The length of this visit is at your discression but we recommend that it comprises of at least half a day and if at all possible a night stay. The purpose of the visit is to ensure that you have an opportunity to assess our service. You will be given privacy to discuss matters with other patients and to meet the staff. If you wish, members of your extended family can also discuss matters with other patients and staff in private.

This will enable you to enjoy the facilities of the unit, including the meals and meet with those people who will support you. It is important that you have an opportunity to view your home, the room you will occupy, discuss your requirements and see examples of the records and information kept.

If a trial visit is not possible, or someone is admitted as an emergency, their needs and requirements will be assessed and if appropriate the patient can decide to move elsewhere.

Do you need care advice?

Our team is led by the Clinical Nurse Manager who is supported by our Senior Management team which includes clinical and non clinical members. Clinical and personal development are key staff priorities in our organization.

We employ experienced nursing staff who have been specifically trained to support people with complex health conditions and neurological injuries or conditions. Our Staff Development Manager oversees all training provided in order to maintain the high quality of skill required to manage the complex needs of our patients.
