Staff

Each client has a carer or team of carers supported by the Care Manager. If it is unavoidable to withdraw a member of your team we will discuss the change with you. All staff are managed by a Registered General Nurses and except in emergencies are known to the client.

Our staff are carefully selected and recruited, taking into consideration their attitude regarding the importance of upholding client choice. We always obtain two satisfactory references and an acceptable disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau before we employ staff.

Before any new employee is allowed to work unsupervised they undergo a specially designed and approved induction training programme. During training the new employee is given the skills to be able to care for our clients. Along with formal office based training they are also given “on the job” training. Once the employee has been assessed to be capable they are then allowed to start to work by themselves.

After their initial training staff receive regular ongoing training and supervision to ensure that the correct standard is maintained. All our staff have to adhere to the professional standards which are laid down by the Government and by the national organization UKHCA of which we are members.

If a client has very complex needs the carer attending the client will be trained to the required skill level to meet the clients’ needs.
