At Applegarth it is important to us that those who choose to live with us have access to all of the activities they would wish to have. Our dedicated Lifestyle and Leisure team will work with you to provide a schedule of events that fulfil your desires and needs.

We organise days out, evenings with friends and if you wish holidays. We will make sure that things that are important to you continue, for example, you are able to enjoy to your favourite radio / television programme. In addition there are group activities in the complex ranging from flower arranging to singing.

IT areas with Internet Access

In this modern age keeping in touch with the outside world is important. Our patients are encouraged to use the computers to develop their skills, use the internet for their own personal purchases and play games etc… We have computers in various parts of the building for just that purpose.

Communal Lounge Areas

We have 7 communal lounge areas through the home which offer different facilities themselves such a plasma television: music; café area, laundry for patients own use and kitchen facilities.

Physiotherapy Room

Our patients will benefit from this facility to help with mobility and rehabilitation. It is airy and overlooks our grounds.

Craft Room

This room is designed to be used to help our patients develop their personal and social skills and for recreation in such areas as flower arranging and other activities.

Sensory Room

This Snoozelum has been designed to enable our patients to spend time relaxing. Look at the slide show to see the various stimulating programmes we have available.

Water Relaxation Pool

The Pool is a useful therapy tool and a means of enjoyment for a number of patients. Relax in this pool whilst listening to the audio system and enjoying the water effects and colours. The pool has a hoist and is fully accessible.

Sensory Garden

We have developed a garden that enhances our patients’ quality of life. This part of the garden with its water feature allows patients to enjoy their time in the garden. The raised bed is accessible to all to experience the different fragrances and textures of the plants.

Beauty Therapy/Hair Dressing

We have a qualified beauty therapist and hair dresser available at the complex to provide you with the luxuries in life that make you feel better. Such therapies as aromatherapy, massage (including hand massage) manicures, makeup, etc.

Cuisine

This is a lasting pleasure for most people. We have developed a menu that is both nutritious, attractive and offers real choice. Our chefs go the extra mile for our patients please see the sample menu and remember that we have a dining room that can be used specifically by you to entertain guests.
